2008 RMDIAI/CAPET Fall Conference
October 15 - 17, 2008
RMDIAI will be putting on a joint conference this year with CAPET, the
Colorado Association of Property and Evidence Technicians. Many of our
members perform the functions of crime scene investigation and
property/evidence, and even if you don't, the jobs are so intertwined and
each one affects the other...so hosting the conference together just made
sense! The combined conference is a great opportunity to learn and
meet new people in the field.
We will be at the Double Tree Hotel in Colorado Springs - centrally located
with lots of amenities at the hotel and in the immediate area. We have lined
up plenty of interesting topics and great speakers, to include the new DNA
legislation, the Georgia Crematorium Disaster, the 2004 Tsunami and the
Shauna Nelson case to name a few.

here for the brochure and registration information.
On Tuesday, October 14, the Latent Print Certification Committee, the Crime
Scene Certification Committee and the Forensic Photography Certification
Committee will be testing applicants for the various
certifications. If you are interested in testing for your Latent Print, Crime Scene
or Forensic Photography certification, applications must be submitted to the
appropriate certification committee by August 31, 2008. Click on the
Committees link on the navigation bar to the left for additional
information.
The RMDIAI General Business meeting will be held over lunch on Thursday,
October 16, 2008.

This is an exciting year! The Colorado Association of Property and Evidence along with The Rocky Mountain Division of the IAI would like to extend an invitation to your business to join our organizations for a first time ever JOINT conference. The Fall Conference will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, October 15-17, 2008. We are expecting about 100 attendees with disciplines ranging from those in the forensic fields to technicians whose specialties include the collection, proper storage, preservation, and destruction of all property brought into their facility. This joint conference will provide an excellent opportunity for you, the vendor, to present your company and products to a group of individuals that have significant influence on their agencies’ purchases. Vendors will be highlighted with a new feature at this year's conference called, "Vendor Night!" All vendors will set up on the evening of October 16th from 6-10 pm, for a MEET AND GREET session with attendees from the conference. Hour d'oeuvres and drinks will be served as the attendees are given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with each vendor to discuss and collect information regarding the products being presented. This evening will allow for attendees to spend quality time learning about the products and services offered by your company. The cost to each vendor is $400 per table, which will help defray the cost of the evening and also provide the attendees with a "hospitality suite" to mingle with their fellow technicians. You will also have the opportunity to advertise in the Event Program given to each attendee prior to the conference. Full page advertisements are $100; Half page advertisements are $50.00. If you are unable to attend the conference, but would like to contribute to its success, this can be done by providing attendance appreciation awards or by making a monetary contribution that would be used toward the "hospitality suite." Your generosity is appreciated and will be acknowledged during the conference. The Colorado Association of Property and Evidence Technicians and The Rocky Mountain Division of the International Association of Identification are very excited and proud to continually provide quality educational opportunities for those in the evidence and forensic fields. We would like very much for your company to be represented during this Fall Conference, and look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at cthurston@greenwoodvillage.com or by phone at 303-486-8257.
